RESULTS FROM 2017 LOBSTER ON THE RIVER
During its 11th year, Placerville's biggest and best Lobster feed, Lobster on the River, raised more than $8,000 for community organizations. The event is the largest fundraiser for the Placerville Rotary club.

“We’re thrilled at the results of this year’s event and can’t wait to start using this money to make our community and world better,” said event chair Cher Williams. Rotary Club of Placerville distributes all proceeds to local and global services projects. In its 2015-2016 fiscal year, the club gave more than $5000 to organizations and projects such as the Rotary Park, Signs for Highway 50, and Boys and Girls Club. Globally, Rotary is committed to eradicating polio worldwide. Along with its partners, such as the Gates Foundation, Rotary has reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent worldwide since its first project in 1979.

The 2017 Lobster on the River party featured lobster from Cousins Maine Lobster, BBQ from All Star Que and ice cream from Rich's Ice Cream Catering. Live music provided by The Random Strangers.

The 2018 event is on 22 September at Lotus Henningsen Park featuring music from the Random Strangers and Cousins Maine Lobster. Tickets are available on-line (site coming soon) and from Placerville Rotarians.
